Student Council

Student Council – What is that?

The Student Council for Electrical Engineering is the student representation for the following degree programs:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Information Technology / Technical Informatics
  • Computational Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering (English-taught program)
  • Medical Information Technology

The members of the Student Council are students from these degree programs.
They are elected annually (usually in December) by all students of the aforementioned programs.

What are we doing?

For First-Year Students:

  • Providing guidance at events such as the University Information Day about studies and the Faculty of IEF.
  • Organizing the structure of the orientation week for first-year students.
  • Supporting the mentoring program for first-year students of the IEF faculty.

For any questions or problems during your studies, we try to assist students or refer them to the appropriate contact person for their situation.

We organize many social and informative events for students:

  • Company evenings
  • Summer festival / Christmas party
  • Seminars, expert lectures
  • Game nights, poker & skat tournaments
  • Kubb & soccer tournaments

Additionally, we provide important information about studies, job and internship opportunities, external events, and other relevant news at the University of Rostock, particularly within the IEF faculty.
